New Peak of the Market Research Site

This research site will allow us to continue and enhance our research efforts

May-15-2015 ... Over the past five years we have been building a research program that supports our ongoing commitment of enhancing the quality of Peak of the Market potatoes and vegetables. This has been a collaborative effort between Peak of the Market growers, staff, industry agronomists, and research institutions. Our program is building momentum, and we have some exciting plans to move this forward in 2015!

Peak of the Market is proud to be expanding our Research Program! Peak has acquired a 40-acre irrigated research site in Winkler, located in the heart of Manitoba's fresh potato production area.

This research site will allow us to continue and enhance our research efforts on potato variety evaluation; and improved agronomic and pest management practices. In addition to working on traditional Manitoba vegetable crops, we will also be investigating new opportunities like sweet potato production and a few ethnic crops.

In addition to research trials, our new site provides a great meeting place to get together with our growers and partners in the vegetable industry to share ideas, knowledge, experience, and foster those relationships that are valuable to our mutual success.

I am excited about our plans for the year and the future of our Peak of the Market research program.
